Buenos Aires, February 26 (NA) – The Supreme Court of Justice resolved to merge two cases linked to the mega-scam known as 'Generación Zoe' into Federal Court No. 12 in the City of Buenos Aires, under Judge Julián Ercolini. The decision by the highest court ended a jurisdictional dispute between the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1 and the National Criminal and Correctional Federal Court No. 12 in an investigation for the possible crime of unauthorized financial intermediation. Initially, it had been decided that one of the files would continue in the national jurisdiction while the alleged maneuvers were evaluated. For the economic criminal court judge No. 9, the case would be part of a larger network operated under the pyramid scam scheme.
Leonardo Cositorto, who was processed by Judge Liliana Alliaud as the presumed head of a criminal association accused of committing 1,095 frauds, remains in custody. He has two convictions for criminal association and repeated frauds: a 12-year prison sentence in Corrientes and another 12-year sentence in Salta. According to the investigation, the organization set up a structure that simulated being a prosperous company offering coaching, trading, and leadership courses, and promised investments in crypto assets, tokens, and real estate projects with returns above those of the financial system. The second file to be sent to Federal Court No. 12 was processed in the economic criminal court for alleged irregular public offers and financial intermediation in the capital market. The case originated from a complaint filed by Julieta Petracchi against Generación Zoe officials and against Julieta Bentos for criminal association, fraud, and financial intermediation. The complainant stated that in December 2021 she delivered $3,000 to invest in a building belonging to Generación Zoe and that in January 2022 she only received $100 as payment, without receiving further dividends.
